CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP AT THE ANTHONY CARO CENTRE
Paul Moorhouse, Chief Executive, and Patrick Cunningham, Centre Manager and long-standing assistant to Anthony Caro (1970-2013), have announced their intention to leave the Anthony Caro Centre on 28 June 2023.
Since creating the Centre in 2020, they developed a new focus for the study and appreciation of Caro's work in displays held at the site of the artist's former studio in Camden, as well as presenting major exhibitions held in London and Germany. Under their direction, the Anthony Caro Centre's Open Days, a new initiative held once each month, have attracted a new, growing audience for Caro's achievements.
Working with City and Guilds of London Art School, they established the Anthony Caro Sculpture Prize and Bursary. In the last three years, and in collaboration with Cahiers D'Art Institute (CDAI), work on the catalogue raisonné of Caro's work has proceeded apace and is due to come to fruition with the launch of on-line access.
From 29 June 2023, the Anthony Caro Centre passes to the care of Paul Caro, the artist's son.
